STERILISATION
Sterilisation is a permanent birth control method. It involves operations required that the woman be asleep. In a woman, this involves tying of the tubes and there are two common ways by which the procedure can be carried out it can be by the use of a instrument called laparoscope. A small incision is made below that navel, and the instrument inserted through the incision. The ividucts are visualised and clipped , ringed or coagulated by an electric wire passed through the laparoscope . commoner method in developing countries , is by making a small transverse incision in the upper part of the pubic region and deepening this into the abdominal cavity . Each uterine tube can then be drawn out and made into a loop and tied. The loop segment is cut off.
Sterilisation is most suitable for a woman who has completed her family . A disadvantage if sterilisation in women is that if she had been on pills prior to this, she might experience heavy menstrual periods in the immediate post sterilisation period.

Vasectomy is the operation of sterilisation in men . it is commonly carried with the man in the conscious state save that the area involved is deadened. It involves making incisions in the upper lateral sides of the scrotum and bringing out the VAS deferens n each side. These are cut and tied. The incision is then closed. The process is done ,patients just need a few drugs administration and can be discharged within 6hrs after the operation to be sure.
